MIHAF | Up to $25,000 in Assistance for Michigan Homeowner’s

If you are a Michigan homeowner and are struggling to keep up with your mortgage or other housing-related payments, you may be eligible for assistance through the MIHAF program. The Michigan Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF) was established to help homeowners who are experiencing financial hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To be eligible for assistance, you must own and occupy your home as your primary residence, have a household income less than 150% of the Area Median Income (AMI), and have a financial hardship directly related to COVID-19 on or after January 21, 2020. If you have been impacted by COVID-19 but your hardship began before January 21, 2020, you may still be eligible for assistance if your hardship has continued after that date.

MIHAF can provide assistance of up to $25,000 per household to help with delinquent mortgage/housing expenses, delinquent land contract payments, delinquent property taxes, delinquent condominium/homeowners’ association fees, delinquent homeowner’s insurance, delinquent utilities, or delinquent internet broadband services.

If you think you may be eligible for assistance through MIHAF, you can apply online at https://www.michigan.gov/mshda/homeownership/mihaf-homeowner-assistance.
